How to Stop The Red Darkness

The main threat in Cubic Odyssey is the Red Darkness — a mysterious plague that consumes all life in the galaxy, including creatures, planets, and parts of the landscape. One of your key objectives is to purify what has been corrupted by this growing menace.

The only thing slowing it down are ancient temples scattered across the galaxy.

Inside them, you can find a Purifier — a special weapon capable of cleansing the Darkness, since standard guns and blasters have no effect on it. Once you acquire the Purifier, you’ll be able to clear corrupted terrain and collect Dark Dust, a unique resource used to craft even more tools that you can use against the mysterious enemy.

Each planet typically has several Dark sources, depending on how badly it's been infected. Craft a Light Shard out of Dark Dust, and use it on a Dark source to summon a powerful beam of light that purifies a large area — significantly lowering the planet’s corruption level.

Planets with low corruption can be fully cleansed using an ancient weapon — a massive monolith that looks like a portal to another dimension. Use Darkness Core fragments, earned through battles with the Dark sources, and the entire planet will be freed.

Some planets are so consumed that you can't even land on them right away — they’re protected by a red shield. To break through, you’ll have to engage in space combat against corrupted pirates and mysterious dark masses. Once they are destroyed, the shield will vanish, and you can continue your quest. Later on, you’ll gain the ability to destroy shields directly using a special device, with no need to fight the dark mass.

The deeper you travel into the galaxy, the more dangerous the corruption becomes. On some planets, you can find creatures known as Dark Walkers — massive beings, roughly the size of a skyscraper.

They’re hard to miss… and even harder to defeat. We won’t spoil how to deal with them — discovering it is part of the fun. But trust us — the reward is worth the risk. And if you’re not ready to fight? Run. Come back later. They don’t have spaceships — they’re not going anywhere.
