Update 1.4.0.3

Pick a spot in open space and build your own station! Start with a small platform, expand it block by block, and add equipment. Switch gravity on or off inside your station, and use the portal network to travel between your station and planets.
This update also improves NPC and creature behavior, multiplayer synchronization, and save reliability.
Important for multiplayer: both the game and dedicated servers must be updated. Older versions are incompatible with the new version.
New: Player Space Stations
- Added the Station Core, a new craftable device. Deploy it anywhere in open space to establish your own space station.
- The Station Core anchors your station in place and comes with a small starter platform to build out from.
- You can build with blocks and place objects and structures on stations, just as you can on ships.
- Gravity can be toggled on or off inside your station.
- Player stations are connected to the planet portal network, allowing you to travel between your station and planets.
- Player space stations are supported on dedicated servers.
Gameplay
- Pinned recipes now update their ingredient costs to reflect your difficulty setting and class crafting bonus.
- Ingredient quantities displayed for tasks now scale correctly.
- Fixed task scaling on crafting consoles for rescued knights.
- Fixed an issue where mining tools equipped with mining bonus mods did not provide the correct bonus yield.
- Fixed doors being placed with the wrong orientation inside ships.
- Fixed an issue where projectiles passed through some characters without registering a hit.
- Fixed issues where some characters could become permanently unhittable and burrowing creatures could lose collision after re-emerging.
- Corrupted creatures no longer spawn from danger events on the starting planet.
- Fixed respawning after dying in space.
- Fixed an exploit that allowed players to restore their pre-death inventory by quitting the game while dead.
Creatures & AI
- NPCs now react within a fraction of a second when terrain along their path is mined or built on, rather than walking into newly dug holes.
- Pathfinding is now much faster when many NPCs are active, and long routes now complete properly.
- Flying companions no longer ignore targets more than about 31 blocks away.
- Reduced erratic target switching and improved melee line-of-sight checks and stuck detection.
- Creatures now retain their health, level, and elite status after saving and reloading. Previously, reloading restored their health and removed their elite status.
- Reduced brief freezes during enemy spawning caused by perception checks.
Multiplayer & Dedicated Servers
- World changes are now synchronized more reliably from the server to clients when they join.
- Creature appearance, level, and elite status are now consistent between the host and connected players.
- Fixed an issue that prevented online players from interacting with some ships.
- Fixed ship chests losing their contents after a warp on dedicated servers.
- Fixed transferring a client's ship from another star system.
- Ships no longer appear in teleport lists when they are in a different location from their owner.
- Fixed voxel mining issues on dedicated servers.
- Dedicated servers no longer reset their difficulty settings on startup.
- Fixed server deadlocks and improved stability on long-running servers.
- Improved connection reliability for dedicated servers with very large worlds.
- Fixed an issue that caused clients to send excessive skill updates to the server.
- Fixed discrepancies in generated content between servers and clients, including corruption spots, speeder towns, and ship templates.
- Fixed the player list overlapping the difficulty panel on the session screen.
- Server administrators: added the kick <netId> console command, a heartbeat file, and a watchdog script for automatic restarts.
Saves & Stability
- Saves are now written atomically, with verification and backup rotation, greatly reducing the risk of corruption.
- Corrupted saves are now detected and quarantined rather than deleted. The game falls back to the most recent valid backup.
- Fixed an issue after ship travel that could cause collected loot to remain in the world and the game to hang when quitting to the menu. Saves made while this issue was active may still contain leftover loot.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when saving twice in a row with objects attached to a ship.
- Fixed an issue where blocks placed during a ship autosave were not included in the save.
- Fixed an issue that could erase terrain edits if a save occurred before the planet finished loading.
- Fixed an issue where autosaving one ship froze building on other ships.
- Fixed several crashes and rare freezes related to threading, physics, and loading.
Performance & Graphics
- Fixed DirectX 12 crashes caused by running out of memory.
- Fixed a memory leak caused by painting ships.
- Optimized shadow rendering for planted seeds.
- Ship autosaves are now significantly faster.
- Block destruction events are processed faster, reducing delays during heavy mining or explosions.
Audio
- Improved the sound system for weapons, rockets, speeders, and power sources.
Localization & Other
- Added translations for new text and fixed duplicate strings.
- Updated the privacy agreement text in all supported languages.
